I had another Ambitionista meeting tonight and the discussion was on travel. Unfortunately I have never had the pleasure of traveling overseas but I would love to one day.
My first stop would be to Trinidad and Tobago. I still have family from my father’s side living there that I haven’t met yet and I would love to get more in-tune with that side of my heritage. As of now I have an uncle that is still living there in the same house that my great grandmother raised her children. It would be something special to just be in that space and soak up the history and learn more. It’s number one on my bucket list.
My next stop would be to Paris. My grandfathers father on my mothers side was French. Hence my last name being Allard. 🙂 I have been trying to learn French on and off for more than a decade. LOL. I started in High School and gave up but after talking to these wonderful ladies I realize that I shouldn’t waste anytime and pick it back up.
I’m going to start with those two places first. That way I can cross them off of my bucket list. The next one would be to….get a Passport. I know I know!!! I’m making all of these plans and I don’t even have THE most important piece to make all of this happen. I can hear my grandmother now with her thick Trinidadian accent saying “Ashley child, I have been telling you since you were fifteen to get a Passport. You don’t listen to Grandma”(as she sucks her teeth). I love her to pieces. She’s a tough cookie also.
Well if I’m ever going to get going I need to start with the important piece first.
