The next blogging challenge is to discuss what my dream job is.
So we all have our moments where we don’t know what we want to do and we are figuring everything out. So I just had an epiphany like 3 weeks ago on what I wanted to do. LOL. I’m the type of person who if I really want something I will put my mind to it however I didn’t come to this decision really on my own.
I posted a question on a LinkedIn group chat and I received several responses but this one guy basically said to me “What the f*** are you doing?” LOL. It was more of like a tough love type of response and I really respected that because there is nothing like getting advice from someone who is not so close to you and can call you out on the BS that is being revealed.
So after his response I just took a whole weekend to myself and really thought about what I was doing and what I really wanted to do. I always had a plan in my life to be in Technology or Information Systems ever since I was in high school and went to a Technology Vocational School. I continued with that in college and then planned to with graduate school but decided to take a different route. After that I sort of changed my mind and got a little lost and I explain all of that further in my “Imposter Syndrome” post.
To make a long story short, I have decided that my dream job is to be a Database Administrator. I am currently studying for my certification in A+ and then later on down the road once I get into the industry I’m hoping to get my certification in Linux+, Network+, and Project+. I’m hoping to get started in the field and on my way in the next coming months. So yes that is my dream job. 🙂
