The next blogging challenge is on education.
This can be sliced into a number of conversations but let’s start with the importance of education. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to receive an education at all times. There should never be a child or an adult that is going on in life without an education. How will the world continue to grow without knowledge? Without planting that first seed in a child’s mind. With that seed the child can then go on through life solving our greatest problems with technology, health, and the environment. The sky is the limit when it comes to how important education really is and how you can apply that to your future goals.
So let’s discuss what goals that may be. If a child is given a ‘medical kit’ to play with, as my son was given when he was little, it is the assumption that you are planting the seed for your child to have fun with it. I use to pretend that I was sick around my son just to see what he would do and he knew exactly what to do. He would take the thermometer and jam it in my mouth, and then take the stethoscope and say that he can’t hear anything. 🙂 The point is that he was eager to learn and I planted that seed for him to be curious. I’m hopeful that his curiousness will carry him to medical school and hopefully discover a cure for cancer.
Now let’s break it down even further on how education should be offered. Unfortunately I already have my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree so I can’t complain about the cost of loans and how it will take forever for me to pay it back. It’s already stacked up to over 100,000. 😦 However I can complain about the new generation coming up that won’t be able to afford college on their own. I believe that community college should be free. It shows that anyone can get an education and gives the upcoming generation hope that they can pursue their dreams.
The upcoming generation needs someone or someplace to tell them that they matter and that they can be whatever they want to be and here are their options. We can’t expect for the upcoming generation to take over things when we are long gone if they don’t have the proper tools.
